London Part 2: Checking Out Trafalgar Square

These were taken in Trafalgar Square on New Twelvemonth'due south Eve (yes this was the day before my previous mail service in Covent Garden… I don't know why I posted them out of sequence).

We had a fabulous day in the National Gallery on Saturday. Mr Summers and I managed to comprehend every room (which we usually never manage when going round museums and galleries) and view all the paintings we wanted to meet. Nosotros saw Van Gogh's Sunflowers, Seurat's Bathers at Asnières and Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus, amongst others… admittedly amazing. There'southward nothing like seeing actually well-known paintings in real life and up-shut. I love the fact that London'due south large museums and galleries are free entry – one thing the old smoke does get correct!

I wore my fabled thrifted polka dot scarf for the outset time – I think it was a quid from a local charity shop – which went perfectly with my vivid brogues and checked raincoat. London was unbelievably mild at the weekend and so it was prissy non to take to habiliment a heavy coat/woolly scarves/gloves, they're such a pain to carry when y'all're indoors and getting hot.

Oh and I thought I'd say: the fountains normally look prettier than this. The black barriers were up to stop drunken revellers jumping in them at New year's day (which they always exercise). Shame – the pictures would have looked so much nicer without them 🙂
